smell of rain!

open the doors,
the windows and inhale
let the fresh air in
the dew-smelling air in from the first rain
a fresh breath in spetember
after hot hot june july august too
the sweltering months give way
to freshenss -
albeit for a few days
until a new heatwave strikes with
all its fervour and renewed vigour
for a few more days weeks on end
but for these few days;
a gift from the skies above
they opened up a crack
and let the water pour down
and soak up our streets houses cars selves
clearing up the clogness of the air around
taking the dust from the air back to the sea

so for today tomorrow and hopefully the day after
let's open up all windows and doors
let's open up our lungs and inhale the fresh air
let's allow our bodies to freshen up!
